Summer Time

Thought I'd give a "quick" update on summer, or pretty much lack thereof thus far, although summer is quickly making up for lost time. One week left until the new baby comes into the world!
So two weekends ago, had the pleasure of joining two other Balls Deepers and one future balls deeper for a hike up Pico Mtn. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day, temp up top was ~60 degrees and the sun was darting in & out of the clouds. On the way up the mountain, I we had one mis-hap, my dog trixie bolted on us...never to return to the hike. Turns out she made her way over to the top of the alpine slide on pico with ridley-roo. Ridley made his way back to us after a quick inspection...trixie on the other hand hung out too long and was grabbed by the patroller who was working up there. My wife received the call and had to drive up to pick trixie up...luckily she knew all the patrollers that were working there and got to chat it up and catch with some of them, so it wasn't a complete loss for her.
Balz, Keating, Cooper & I enjoyed a nice relaxing afternoon on top and catching up on important topics like what we're hoping to ski this year, when the first big dump will fall and watching Cooper run up and down the chair unloading zone.

Just picked up a pair of K2 Apache Coombas on the cheap, so will finally have a phatty pair of skis in my quiver. Extremely psyched about that and thought it a worthy cause for buying a pair of skis. Hope everybody's summer is going well and hopefully will be seeing you in couple months time. (Natkin, any summer turns this year?)

had a sick day of deep sea fishing today in the gulf of mexico. spending the rest of the time with my toes in the sand here in Florida for the week. slayed about 60 pounds of snapper today. fried some, broiled some, and will grill the rest tomorrow. it's hard down here, but someone's got to do it. temps just about perfect, low 80's, plenty of sun, and some outstanding sightseeing on the beach. they just don't make em' anywhere else like they do in the south...if you know what i mean.

likewise on the hike greeny. had a blast. balz, thanks for sticking around gor guiness stew!

if there was a movie soundtrack for your trip to Fl, it sounds like the music playing would be "it's hard out here for a pimp" from hustle & flow.
