Welcome to El Nino Bitches!

Finally looks like the SW flow is setting up here in the SW. El nino will usher in some great snowfall in Taos and southern Colorado. We canned the trip to Taos this weekend and opted for the end of the month trip. Looks like Hils and Seth will be gettin' it next weekend with Day and Iris. Questionable how much snow this will bring to the Vail area....but Silverton, Telluride, and Wolf Creek will get crushed. Matt convinced me to go with the New NTN telemark set up...just gotta sell all my old tele shit shit now.... TK Outy.

El Nino...delivering the mank to the EC. Unfortunately got the shaft two nights ago, went to bed with NOAA upping my expected overnight snowfall to 5-10". Woke up to 1" on the car...ouch. Storm didn't develop until too late and nailed eastern VT, NH & Coastal ME pretty hard.

Good news though is I'm making up for it today with 2" on my car before work and snowing moderately since. Extreme mank factor involved though.

Got out to ski Equinox yesterday...snow very reminiscent to the '09 Silver Fork tour, pretty good up high, but denser & denser as I dropped down...once almost pulling a Heylinger near the run-out.

Looks like I counted my chickens too early. This regarding a storm moving in this weekend:
"Even into New England, this looks to be a wind-driven heavy rain event, one that could cause flooding issues from the rain, snow melt, and possibly even some ice jams."

Boo...hiss

unfortunately sunday-monday may just be the first of these st. lawrence runner type storms to rail NE. Hopefully that forecast changes in the coming days. Good hear there is at least some western love if us ec'er have to suffer through a thaw.
