VT Snow Drought '10

See Dave's post below for details on our Sunday outing this past weekend. Here's some visual evidence so that you know we're not lying.

Gittin er' dun in the backyard.

Dave, contemplating the next 1600' back to the house.

There's no snow in VT this year...

"Tight" eastern woods.

Can't argue with freshies.

More "tight" woods.

Just had to make the report although it really has no bearing on any of us, but Snowshoe WV has now come even with Jay Peak for snow tally for the year. Both stand at 192" to date. Thought it would happen a couple weeks ago, but still pretty significant imo. Which I might add is more snow that any resort in the northern 2/3 of CO as well.

Knauer, don't think i'm trying to knock CO with that last sentence...just posting facts. Magic Mtn, the only local mtn here that keeps annual snow tally on their website has 70" to date.

by the by, reports from MANY skiers up this way have Bolton sitting pretty with the best conditions in the northern 1/2 of the state...contrasting with many reports of less than stellar conditions at Jay, Mad, Stowe, etc. He he he, the little mountain that could does it again.

Update on Colrado snow totals:

Vail: 178" (with 20" forecasted this weekend we'll bitch slap that SnowShoe Total!)
Wolf Creek: 308"

Oh yeah....it doesn't rain in Vail like it does in VT, WV, NY, ME, NH, etc, etc.....

I'll try and get some pics of East Vail BC this weekend...sickness....
