The Annual OR Show Storm Train rumbling in

Right on time in Alta, 13" already on the ground:

This Afternoon: Snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Temperature falling to around 17 by 5pm. Breezy, with a south southwest wind between 20 and 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 12. Wind chill values as low as -1. Southwest wind between 7 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow showers. High near 19. Wind chill values as low as -1. Southwest wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 9 to 13 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Snow showers. Low around 8. Wind chill values as low as -6. West wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. West northwest wind between 6 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Wish i was on-board...but reality for LCC is that the LCC road will probably be closed for most of this, inter-lodge will probably be in effect as well and a large chunk of the backcountry will not be an option with avy conditions for a while.

If 9-13" is called snow showers, I want to know what snow or even heavy snow is like??

That's cause we were in Taos that weekend. It was great skiing down there. This weekend was pretty good, though, here.
